Prof. Dr. Norbert Pohlmann
Computer Science Professor & Managing Director of the Research Institute for Internet Security
Norbert Pohlmann has been a computer science professor at the Westfälische Hochschule Gelsenkirchen since 2003. In the Department of Computer Science and Communication, he teaches cyber security. In 2011 he was chosen Professor of the Year in the category "Engineering Sciences / Computer Science". He is also the founder and executive director of the Institute for Internet Security - if(is) – here he focuses on research into current and innovative technologies of cyber security. During the summer semester of 2013 he studied as a visiting professor at the Stanford University in the computer science department as well as the methodology of an elite university also know the success factors of the Silicon Valley ecosystem.
